celebrating February 15th

this morning upon walking into the kitchen my husband exclaimed, “Happy February 15th!”

I like to joke that Valentine’s Day isn’t a real holiday, that it’s a commercialized money grab, that flowers are overpriced and die in a week. I’m not a cynic, I just literally don‘t “buy” into the hype of one random day of the year being the day you’re supposed to love and appreciate your partner.

Every cheesy card for your spouse says “I don’t tell you enough…” but rather than apologize for not telling them enough every 14th of February, why not just tell them enough all those other days of the year?

This post is here to advocate for celebrating the lesser known holiday, February 15th.

Love up on your spouse, your children, your family, your friends while you can and never miss an opportunity to tell them — with a quick text, a thoughtful gesture, a warm embrace, or face to face. Slow down and enjoy the simple moments and always always always express gratitude for the blessings in your life.

So thankful for my forever valentine & this year, our own little one we get to love up on together!

Happy 15th of February to you & yours 💕
